Catherine Anderson

Trainee Solicitor 


Catherine joined JMW in June 2014 before commencing her training contract in September 2015. Prior to this Catherine graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2014 with a degree in Law with First Class Honours and gained a distinction upon completing the LPC at the University of Law, Manchester. Whilst at University Catherine developed her interest in criminal law and evidence, completing a dissertation on the Court’s Special Measures for vulnerable and intimidated witnesses.

During her time at JMW Catherine has gained experience working as a paralegal and trainee in the Personal Injury department, working within the Catastrophic Injury team. Catherine has worked as a trainee within the firm’s Business Crime department where she gained valuable experience assisting on a wide range of legal aid and privately funded cases. Catherine worked alongside the department’s solicitors and partners who deal with complex and serious cases and regularly attended both the Magistrates and Crown Court.

Catherine has been selected to sit as a volunteer member on the Manchester Youth Offender Panel and will work as part of the Youth Justice Service to facilitate restorative justice principles and assist in the re-integration of young offenders.

Catherine is part of the Manchester Trainee Solicitor Group committee as the Director of Sport. She also co-captains JMW’s successful netball team and enjoys regular netball matches and socials with her colleagues.

In her spare time Catherine loves to cook for family and friends and enjoys attending cooking classes. She loves everything sport related and is always seeking a challenge, whether it be a half marathon or the 3 Peaks Challenge!
