BBC Panorama will tonight run a program called "One Born Every 40 Seconds” which will report on the standards of care being provided in maternity units across the country but specifically in London.

Today's Metro Newspaper reported that a growing number of local health authorities have said that they will not cover the cost of Caesarean sections procedures if a hospital exceeds the national average of 23%.
