JMW are delighted to invite you to the Basement Extensions Conference 2024.

This conference will focus on the common issues that arise from the construction of second basement extensions adjacent to existing basement structures, including the principles of legal liability for overspilled underpinning or encroaching piling; the engineering considerations when seeking to remove trespassing foundations; how to lawfully remove the trespass/encroachment at common law and under the Party Wall etc Act 1996; recovery of direct and consequential losses (including delays); and what should be included in the drawings, method statements and awards to minimise the risk of such encroachment happening.

This conference will provide guidance and insight from leading industry experts from the legal, surveying and engineering disciplines, and will include excellent networking opportunities with other professionals.

There will be a conference presentation from Matthew Hearsum (JMW Solicitors), Phil Hurst (Hurst Peirce + Malcolm), Nick Isaac KC (Tanfield Chambers) and Will Minting (MINTING), as well as a panel discussion featuring questions asked by the audience

The conference will take place at the auditorium at One Moorgate Place, with a state-of-the-art audience engagement and participation facilities. Places are limited, and are available on a first come-first served basis.
