Injunctions
Husbands, wives, cohabitees and other persons can apply for injunctions. An injunction can stop a person from verbally abusing, or even physically assaulting, a partner, former partner or relative. In some cases injunctions can force a person to leave, or not return to, a property.
At JMW Solicitors we have many years of experience in taking emergency action to bring or defend injunctions.
Change of name
When couples separate, or divorce, a wife, or cohabitee, may want to change her name to her maiden name. This can be achieved by a change of name deed.
Sometimes husbands or wives like to change their children's name(s) in order to reflect their new family circumstances. This is a complicated area of law. If children change their names without proper procedures being carried out this can result in applications being made to the Court. To avoid this happening you should seek specialist advice before a child's first name or surname is changed.
