Members of the Employment Lawyers Association

SEPTEMBER 2008

Membership of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) makes JMW Solicitors a contributor to the voice of authority regarding employment law. The organisation, founded in 1992, exists to represent the views of its members, all of whom are specialists within the law relating to employment, and to promote best practice in the field among those members.

By representing members' views at the highest level, through responses to government consultations and those of other organisations, the ELA is an association that can influence employment law, doing so in an apolitical manner. Its members include solicitors and barristers who advise and act for clients from all sectors, from trade unions to industry organisations, and it thus offers a respected and unbiased opinion. The Legislative & Policy Committee states that "Our focus is not on what is helpful for employees or employers, but on law that works."

The ELA's training courses and resources, available only to members, are methods through which it disseminates the news, information and analysis of the ongoing developments in UK and European employment law due to legislation and judicial decisions. We know that access to these briefings, notes and courses is vital to the provision of excellence in employment law services.

The knowledge and influence that ELA membership brings to our employment law department contributes to our ability to provide that excellence to employers and senior employees. Our commitment to working with our clients on a highly personalised, partner-led basis means we can ensure your business receives the most appropriate commercially-minded solutions to your employment law needs, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
