Managing Your Management- Getting your Law Firm Management Right

Evening Briefing

13th April 2016

JMW Offices, 1 Byrom Place, Spinningfields, Manchester, M3 3HG

Promotion to partner is a massive step for all concerned. It is a big decision both for the partnership and also for the individuals being offered partnership. The number of equity partners and what they bring to a business are fundamental issues and equity should never be offered or taken without careful analysis of the risks and rewards involved for both parties.

Lawshare has put together a management seminar covering the issues from both the perspective of the partnership and the new partner will address the financial, commercial and technical aspects of:

  • What personal and technical attributes should be expected from partners
  • Is the existing governance structure appropriate to attracting the best talent • Valuing of the practice for the purposes of new and exiting partners
  • Dealing with your bank- current trends
  • How are and how best should premises be dealt with • Profit sharing and capital structure available
  • Restrictive Covenants -How to impose them, draft them and getting out of them • The right ingredients for Partnership deeds
  • Partnership structures available to best suit the needs of the partners
  • Discussion regarding exiting and bringing new partners on board.

We would love to carry on the discussion after the event and would like to invite you to join us for some networking and a bite to eat at a local restaurant.
