JMW are often asked to advise the employer with regard to maternity rights and their obligations as an employer. Questions arise with regard to employee entitlements during ordinary and additional maternity leave and also the employer’s obligations with regard to the employee returning to work.
There is also now a variety of “family-friendly” legislation for employers to be aware of including: paternity leave, parental leave, adoption leave and flexible working. Employers must be au fait with the above legislation or they may face costly litigation.
