Des Hudson to speak at inaugural Lawshare Conference

28 August 2015

The fast growing legal referral network, Lawshare operated by JMW Solicitors LLP, is holding its first legal conference at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester on Wednesday 23rd September. Lawshare, a case referral and support network for law firms, was launched in June 2011 and now has more than 200 members in the North West.

The conference is open to both members and non-member law firms and will focus on ‘The Problem with Profit’ including panel sessions discussing growing and managing your business. Panel members will include JMW’s Senior Partner Joy Kingsley, Andrew Twambley from Injury Lawyers 4 U and Steve Arundale from Natwest. The keynote speaker will be Des Hudson, who retired as Chief Executive of the Law Society last year.

Lawshare’s team has doubled in size in the past year with both Kyle Blackburn and Adam Cooper joining as Business Development Managers from Connect 2 Law, a business referral network formerly operated by Pannone LLP.  Kyle oversees Lawsave which is Lawshare’s cost control arm and has assisted member firms to save substantial sums to their office spend by offering access to discounted service providers, while Adam recruits and maintains relationships with Lawshare members.

Commenting on the Lawshare scheme Sucheet Amin, Managing Partner of Aequitas Legal and former Manchester Law Society President said:

“It is important to me and the reputation of Aequitas Legal that if we can’t help a client with a legal problem, we help find the best firm that can. It just doesn’t work if we pass a client to a firm where they receive a bad service as it reflects badly on us. I know key people at JMW and I know their ethics, traditions and customer service are to a standard where I’m happy to send any clients.”

Commenting Joy Kingsley, Senior Partner at JMW and founder of Lawshare said:

“We are delighted that in just 4 years Stuart Cartwright, Caroline McCarron and the rest of the Lawshare team have increased membership numbers to over 200 which is a fantastic achievement. They have created substantial goodwill in the scheme which is shown by the views of the members.  We are all looking forward to our first Conference in September, which we expect will become an annual event sharing best practice in our industry. We have been overwhelmed by the support of no less than 20 sponsors which will enable us to hold an event of the highest quality.”
