JMW Advise on Disposal of Alpha Plus Fostering

27/4/2009

Manchester law firm JMW Solicitors LLP has advised on the disposal of Alpha Plus Fostering Limited to the National Fostering Agency.

Scott Sands, Stephen Hadlow and Nina Latham from JMW's corporate team advised Mary Groarke and Chris Jackson on their disposal of the entire issued share capital of Oldham based independent fostering agency, Alpha Plus Fostering Limited to NFAP Limited, part of the National Fostering Agency, who were backed by private equity firm Sovereign Capital.

Alpha Plus Fostering, established in May 2000, places children with foster carers on behalf of local authorities in the North West.  Both Mary and Chris will stay on as consultants for 6 months to help with the smooth hand over of the business to the National Fostering Agency, who also work with local authorities throughout the UK to place children with foster carers.

Scott Sands, a partner in JMW's corporate department commented:

"We were delighted to advise both Mary and Chris on the disposal of Alpha Plus Fostering to the National Fostering Agency. Both companies undertake important work in the fostering sector and this disposal continues to develop the Alpha Plus brand."

NFAP Limited was advised on the acquisition by London law firm, CMS Cameron McKenna LLP.
