JMW Catch Two Up-and-Coming England Cricketers

1/5/2009

Manchester law firm JMW Solicitors LLP have announced they have signed an agreement to represent two up-and-coming England international cricketers.

Steven Davies, a wicketkeeper, made his Twenty20 International debut for England against the West Indies in March, where he was England's top-scorer with 27 from 21 balls. As well as being a wicketkeeper, he is a regular opening batsman in both one-day and Twenty20 cricket. Davies has won the NBC Denis Compton Award, given to the ‘Most Promising Young Player' at each county cricket club in England, five times in the past five years.

Luke Wright, who has won the NBC Denis Compton award four times, is a talented all-rounder who made his one-day England international debut against India in September 2007 where he scored a half century. Since then Wright has played several times for England in both one-day and Twenty20 cricket.

Both players will be represented by JMW's sports law team who will advise them on issues such as contract negotiations, sponsorships, and intellectual property and media rights.

Craig Sackfield, Senior Player Management Executive in JMW's sports law department said:

"We are thrilled to be working with Steven and Luke, who are two extremely talented cricketers who have bright futures playing for England ahead of them. They have both been name in the preliminary England squad for the Twenty20 World Cup so it would be fantastic if they were included in the final fifteen."
