Sophie Fox


Clinical Negligence 

Sophie joined JMW in December 2012 as a Trainee Solicitor, qualifying into the Clinical Negligence Department in April 2013. 

Sophie has experience with a wide range of clinical negligence cases including:-

  • Stillbirth and neonatal death
  • delay in diagnosis of cancer
  • hearing and vision loss
  • delay in diagnosing sepsis
  • damage to bladder
  • delay in diagnosing fractures
  • substandard surgery
  • falls in hospital
  • gynaecological injuries
  • misprescribing of drugs
  • fatal claims and inquests.   

Sophie has particular experience in stillbirth claims and has worked with the Twin and Multiple Birth Association in preparing their study into obstetric guidelines for multiple pregnancies.Sophie also assists Melissa Gardner with high value cerebral palsy and cauda equina cases. 


Graduated from the University of Hull with a degree in Law with French Law in 2008 and completed her LPC at The College of Law, Chester in 2009.

Sophie was a paralegal in the clinical negligence department at Pannone LLP in Manchester from 2010 and began her training contract there before transferring to JMW in 2012. Sophie was a volunteer for the charity Action against Medical Accidents from 2010 until 2013. 


Sophie is a keen ice-skater and was crowned British Adult Ice-Skating Champion 2015.  She is in training to run the 2016 Manchester Marathon to raise money for the British Lung Foundation
