A thigh injury involves damage to either the bone (femur) or the soft tissues that surround it, which include tendons, ligaments and muscles. Damage to the bone usually results from a significant trauma, such as a crush injury or road traffic collision, whilst damage to the soft tissues in the upper leg may be caused by trips and slips.

Industrial accidents involving heavy machinery and falls from scaffolding or from a ladder, are other major causes of thigh injuries like fractured femurs.

Other thigh injuries for which you may be able to claim personal injury compensation include torn ligaments, damaged muscles and other soft tissue injuries.

When you suffer a serious thigh injury, you may well need to have your leg plastered or spend a period of time on crutches. This can be very disruptive to your life and you may well find that you cannot do the things you normally do. The amount of compensation you will be awarded will reflect this change in lifestyle.

Greater amounts of compensation will usually be awarded to those who are left with ongoing pain and disability, such as walking with an irregular gait, than those who have a complete recovery.  To gain a fuller understanding of what you may be entitled to, get in touch with us today on 0800 054 6570.
