Angela is a Senior Associate working in JMW’s Personal Injury department.  She qualified in 2006 and is currently a supervisor, guiding two Personal Injury fee earners and ensuring they grow and develop.

She deals with the full spectrum of personal injury cases, from road traffic accidents to accidents in the workplace, slip and trips and everything in between.

When not at work, Angela can be found travelling, attending football matches and reading a good book.

Why did you join JMW?

I joined JMW many years ago and at the time it was apparent that this was a firm with ambition. Ten years later and I’m pleased to be associated with a firm that has built upon its reputation and standing in the legal community.

Key cases

Settling a disputed fatality case. I was the third solicitor to receive instructions in this matter due to the client’s frustration with the lack of progress. Settlement was finally achieved in the sum of £74,750 which was greatly appreciated by the client’s widow.

Achieving an admission of liability in a case that the client had tried to deal with herself directly with the council (the defendant) and their insurance company. She had received a firm denial of liability and believed that she did not have a claim.  Upon the insistence of family members she sought legal assistance and although liability remained disputed for a considerable period, a settlement award was finally achieved in the sum of £8,250.

Settling a claim for an active pensioner who fell over at a pothole on a busy main road and fractured her left wrist and arm. The accident had a significant effect on her life, causing a loss of confidence and flashbacks.  The compensation award reflected this.

Gaining compensation for a client who was involved in a severe road traffic accident, due to an icy, ungritted road.  The client experienced a laceration to the back of the head, whiplash symptoms and psychological trauma as a result. After a difficult case in which two neighbouring local authorities were unable to determine who was responsible for the road, the client was awarded £16,650 in compensation.
