Michelle has been working as a Litigation Executive in JMW’s Personal Injury team since 2008. Her achievements with the firm include helping to coordinate the departmental roll out to pre-action protocols for low value personal injury claims in road traffic accidents when it was introduced in 2010, and teaching staff how to achieve the best settlements for their clients using this ever evolving aspect of the personal injury litigation structure.
Michelle has also been a supervisor, and is currently focusing on developing the department’s skills using the pre-action protocols, making sure the team is as effective it can be with respect to road traffic accident cases.
Why did you join JMW?
Abigail Morrison (one of my best friends) worked here and I had met the team on various nights out. I liked the team spirit and wanted to join.

Key cases
- Settling an RTA for a family of four, the father of whom was driving the family car when the defendant smashed into them after incorrectly emerging from a layby. Liability was denied until we issued Court proceedings, after which the defendant’s insurers offered to settle the case in full. A great example of the kind of case JMW handles and the good outcomes we are able to achieve on behalf of clients.
- Winning more than £3,000 for a client involved in a rear end collision caused our client whiplash injuries. I acted for him solely on the matter of personal injury and was able to resolve his claim in less than two months and the client was very happy with my professional attitude and hard work.

- Securing over £2,000 for a client suffering from whiplash symptoms and trauma after an RTA, after we had rejected several very low offers put forward from the defendant’s insurer prior to her having being medically examined. A good example of a case where legal representation has proven vital in order to ensure that an individual gets the right amount of compensation.
- Quickly settling a case for couple whose car was hit with a local authority bin van. I was able to achieve over £3,000 for the clients, including allowance for the husband, who was registered disabled and had to rely on extra help from his family while he recovered from his injuries.
