Trainee Solicitor Recruitment
JMW is a forward looking North West law firm based in Manchester. In June 2006 we located to prestigious offices at No 1 Byrom Place, in the heart of Manchester's new commercial district, Spinningfields. The state of the art offices provide the firm with 30,000 sq. ft of office space and will enable the firm to achieve its ambitious expansion plans to become one of the region's premier law firms.
We have now recruited our trainee solicitors to commence working with us in September 2011, many congratulations to those who were successful and we look forward to welcoming them to JMW. We would like to thank all those who applied, and especially those who attended for interview. Yet again, we were presented with an overwhelming number of high quality candidates and we appreciate the interest shown in the firm, and the time given by candidates to apply and attend for interview.
With effect from 16 June 2010 we are now inviting applications for our next intake of trainee solicitors in September 2012. Please note that applications are to be by CV with a covering letter, to be sent for the attention of Richard Powell and can be either by post or by e-mail (see link below). The deadline for submitting applications is 5 pm on Friday 26 November 2010, and first interviews will subsequently take place on dates to be fixed in January 2011. Further details will follow in due course. We presently anticipate that there will be three training contracts available.
We shall be looking for individuals with a strong academic record (a minimum of 2:1 degree level), excellent interpersonal and team working skills, drive and enthusiasm. We believe in recruiting the right people to help drive our business forward, which means that we are interested in you as an individual.
You will receive high quality training in at least 3 of our departments, working in both contentious and non contentious areas. We believe in giving our trainees very hands on experience, developing your legal skills and also ensuring that you learn to work effectively in a commercial environment.
JMW takes its training commitments very seriously and is proud of the fact that a number of our existing partners joined the firm as trainees.
Your starting salary will be competitive. The starting salary for a first year trainee in September 2009 was £19,500 per annum and the salary will be reviewed annually.
