Sadie Thomson joined JMW as a paralegal in the Business Crime and Regulatory department in January 2017. She assisted various partners and senior associates in the department with cases concerning fraud, money laundering, sexual offences and violent offences. She commenced her training contract in September 2018.

Before joining JMW Sadie worked for a national firm, based in-house at an insurance company, as part of the household subrogated recoveries team. This involved investigating the recovery of the insurer’s outlay from any third party that was responsible for the damage caused to the policyholder’s property.

Sadie graduated from the University of York in 2015 with a 2:1 in History. Sadie specialised in early modern history, which a specific focus on science and medicine. Whilst at York Sadie was the social secretary of the history society, which involved organising society balls, visits to National Trust sites and trips to Budapest and Sofia.

Sadie then went on to study the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP, for which she gained a distinction in both. Whilst at BPP Sadie volunteered for the University Legal Advice Clinic, which involved providing housing, financial and family advice.

Outside of work Sadie has a keen interest in dance, having been a member of the University of York and University of Manchester advanced street dance competition teams.
