Getting to know.. Sheridan Wall

27th October 2014

We asked our new residential conveyancer, a few questions to get to know her a little better beyond the legal..

So Sheridan...

How did you first start working in Law?

I fell into really and joined a small high street practice at 18 years old from leaving school. My role was as a junior. However, after about 6 months of joining the practice, the senior partner saw potential in me and I began assisting him on conveyancing files. From little acorns....the rest is history.

What is your favourite thing about working in Law?

My favourite thing about working in law is that each day brings different challenges.

If you didn't work in Law what would you do?

I would have gone into teaching but I did not want to go to university at 18 and leave all my friends behind.

What's the one thing you can't live without?

My family.

Who inspires you? (personally or professionally)

Professionally I would have to say my first Boss, John Hulbert, who ignited my interest in the conveyancing progress and passed onto me invaluable knowledge and insight that has stood me in good stead throughout the years.

Personally, my parents who have instilled in me a good work ethic and provided me with much support over the years when I have needed it.

If you were a superhero, what superpower would you have?

Like lots of people probably to be able to fly to avoid hanging around for hours on end at airports.

What nicknames do you have?

I do not really have a nick name. However, my family have always called me Sherry, which suited me when I was younger but I now prefer Sheridan, as I think I have grown into my name.

What was the last book you read?

To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee. My favourite book and which was good company whilst I was laid up with my broken ankle recently.

If you hosted a dinner party, what three people (dead or alive) would you invite?

1. Gerard Butler for eye candy

2. Billy Connolly for his great sense of humour and antidotes

3. Sean Connery as I could listen to his voice all day long.

What question would you ask the next person undertaking this Q&A?

If you were on a desert island which one person would you like to be there with you?

Previous participant Alison Chu asked what is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?

Crickets when I was on holiday in Thailand.
