Another award winning year at JMW

Leading Manchester-based law firm JMW Solicitors LLP is celebrating after outstanding year-end results.
Income at the firm is up by 13% from £13.2 million to £15 million and profit by 25%. This is even more impressive when looked at in the context of the firm’s performance over the recession. From 2008 to 2013 fee income has almost doubled from £8m to £15m. Over the last 2 years, the firm has added £4m to fee income, an increase of 34%.
Over the last year, growth has been seen in all work types with the Family department leading the way with an increase of 120%, followed by Private Client whose income grew by 57%, with both departments producing over £1m in fee income. The largest departments in the firm, Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury also enjoyed their best performance ever and are now focussing on meeting the challenges caused by the ‘Jackson’ reforms.
The commercial departments also outperformed the market with impressive increases in Commercial Litigation, Employment and Corporate
The firm has again seen an unparalleled surge in website instructions of 97% and an increase of 148 % in fees generated from those cases. Referrals by solicitors to the solicitor’s referral network Lawshare increased by 121%.

We continue to adapt to the changing legal landscape and have many different projects which we hope will enable us to perform considerably better than the market over the forthcoming year”
The record financial year at JMW completes an excellent 2012/13 for the firm after they were chosen as Medium Law Firm of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards in March and then Legal Firm of the Year at the City of Manchester Business Awards two weeks later.

Nevertheless, we consider the firm to be in great shape going forward.”
