An arrest warrant has been issued for Massimo Bochicchio after he failed to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court for the first appearance in a private prosecution case.
Luca Batacchi and his father Giorgio Batacchi are privately prosecuting Massimo Bochicchio for fraud and money laundering to the sum of €1 million. The case follows legal action and several other complaints against Bochicchio for investment fraud including by ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Representing the Batacchis, Lee Adams, Partner at JMW Solicitors, said: “It is alleged that Bochicchio dishonestly and fraudulently induced Luca Batacchi and Giorgio Batacchi to invest the sum of €996,431.01 in the initial public offering of shares in Alibaba, committing fraud and money laundering between 2014 and 2020. Due to his failure to appear on Monday 7 December, District Judge Dean issued a warrant for the arrest of Bochicchio to bring him before the court.”
The Batacchis are represented by Lee Adams and Amy Shaffron of JMW Solicitors and David Whittaker QC of 2 Hare Court. The investigation team includes Dr Emmanouil Ioannidis of FIN1 Compliance and Marlon Pinto of AnotherDay.
JMW Solicitors act on behalf of individuals and companies who have been victims of fraud.
