JMW advise the shareholders of Woodall Nicholson on exit
JMW Solicitors LLP have advised the shareholders of Woodall Nicholson Limited, one of the UK’s oldest established coach building business, in connection with their exit from the company and the acquisition by a trio of Manchester investors.
The business, which has a turnover of £24 million annually and employs 180 people in the North West, incorporates Coleman Milne, Mellor Coachcraft and Mellor Vancraft, and sells funeral vehicles, buses and specialist vehicles for the emergency services. The acquisition by Mosaic Private Equity, RooGreen Ventures LLP and Enterprise Ventures has extended the trio’s involvement in the industry following their purchase of Scarborough-based Plaxton Coachbuilders in 2004.
As part of the deal, Geoff Hudson, who has been with the business for over 30 years becomes managing director, while his two colleagues and co-shareholders, Paul Thompson and Neil Crowther, will retire from the business.
Chris Moss, Partner and Head of Corporate, who led the JMW team, stated: “Woodall Nicholson rightly holds a leading position in their industry and this deal looks set to give them a great boost. We wish the new team the best of success for the future”.
The shareholders were also advised by accountants RSM Tenon, whilst Jonathan Robison of DWF LLP, and Tim Fearn and Andy Phillips of Pinsent Masons LLP provided advice for the investors.
