Lost Christmas

JMW’s Head of Intellectual Property has advised Impact Film and Television Ltd regarding its new film “Lost Christmas” which was screened on BBC1 on Sunday 18th December. It will be repeated on CBBC on Christmas Eve.

The intellectual property team from JMW advised independent film producers Impact Film and Television in relation to film funding, copyright licenses, talent agreements, music publishing, international distribution rights and BBC commissioning. Keith is listed in the film’s credits for undertaking the legal work. The film is unusual because it is a co-commision from both BBC1 and CBBC. Impact Film and Television based their production office for the shoot near JMW’s MediaCityUK office.

Lost Christmas is an urban fairytale set in Manchester starring Eddie Izzard. Keith recently attended the preview screening of the film at the British Film Institute on the South Bank in London, with composer Debbie Wiseman, author David Logan and director John Hay. Eddie Izzard and young actor Larry Mills answered questions from critics and fans. A novel of the story is now also available. Keith is finalising negotiations for an international release of the film.

Commenting on JMW’s involvement with the film’s legal work, Elliot Jenkins, the Producer for Lost Christmas said;

“JMW has been an invaluable part of our team. Lost Christmas had a complex structure due to being one of the new strain of hybrid films, JMW understood this and engaged with it fully. They are an absolute pleasure to work with and I will certainly be hopping that we can work together on all future productions with Impact Film and Television Limited."

Commenting on working on the Lost Christmas, JMW said:

“We were delighted to be asked to undertake the legal work on a new great family orientated Manchester film. Since this project was filmed, the studios and post-production facilities at MediaCityUK have opened. I am hopeful that others will choose to base their production companies in the region and use the local technical and professional experts.”
