Kate joined JMW in July 2022 as a Court of Protection Solicitor.

Kate has experience in a wide range of Court of Protection matters including:

  • Professional Deputyship general management
  • Professional Deputyship Applications including contested proceedings
  • Lay Deputyship Applications
  • Advice to Lay Deputies regarding their role and when a Court of Protection Application is required
  • Contested Welfare Proceedings
  • Financial abuse investigations

Kate has experience working with a varied range of clients including adults with acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities, age-related degenerative conditions and a variety of mental health conditions.

Kate graduated from the University of Manchester in 2017 with a degree in Law. Kate went on to gain a Distinction in her LPC, studying this as a masters, at the University of Law whilst gaining experience as a paralegal in Mental Health Law and Court of Protection. Kate has specialised in Court of Protection Law since July 2018 and qualified as a solicitor in July 2021. Kate works hard to build and maintain close working relationships with clients and their families.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys yoga and spending time with friends and family.
