Driving Offence Case Studies
Mr. P was prosecuted for an offence of exceeding the speed limit of speeds up to 105 miles per hour over a distance of 3-5 miles. He contacted our firm as he was aware of our reputation in courts throughout England and Wales having a dedicated department for driving offences. He was represented by Hojol Uddin.
Mr. I was at risk of a potential custodial sentence and also an approximate disqualification of three years. The case proceeded before the Court, the prosecution limited the facts and Mr. I pleaded guilty. All in all Mr. I received a nominal fine and a 17-month disqualification. Mr. I was happy with the outcome and was glad the case didn’t have to go to subsequent dates as he was due to leave the UK for a number of months.
Mr. C approached our firm having been already convicted and sentenced a few days earlier for the identical case. On that occasion he was unrepresented for an offence of failing to give information. The trial proceeded, and the Magistrates heard all the evidence. Hojol then made closing submissions and the Magistrates retired very briefly and returned with a not guilty verdict.
