Half Year Profits Up at JMW

Legal practice JMW Solicitors LLP today released their half year results showing the financial position of the firm at the end of October 2011.

Income is up 16% and profit 23% as against the same period last year. Increases have come right across the firm, the most notable being in Employment whose fees have increased by 180%, Commercial Property 61%, Business Crime and Regulatory 42% and Clinical Negligence 38%. The firm has been growing their full service offering since they built their 7 storey office block in Spinningfields in 2007. The changes geared up a level in September 2010 when former Pannone Managing Partner Joy Kingsley joined JMW followed by a series of no less than 7 Equity Partner Lateral Hires who have arrived at various times over the last 12 months. An additional 17 lawyers have joined the firm so taking the total headcount from 165 to 185.

The firm’s website has produced 20% more clients than last year while new commercial clients have included the Chill Factore, Magnus, Amaze plc, CDS Wilman, Inn Shops, North West Employers Organisation and the Dyslexia Trust. Meanwhile the already very strong private client area continues to deliver increased performance in Personal Injury, Family, Private client and Clinical Negligence.

Managing Partner at JMW Bill Jones commented:

“We continue to be delighted by our success in a difficult market. We expect our progress to continue as our increased profit has been generated in spite of considerable investment in new people and clients. It is clear that more than ever before clients are looking for quality and value and we are able to satisfy both these criteria “
