Son fights stepmother for father’s multimillion pound farming estate

Statement regarding Adam Scott v Jennifer Scott & Others, Claim Number: PT-2018-000874 to be heard in the High Court, London from 9 July 2025

Son fights stepmother for father's multimillion pound farming estate

Adam Scott will face his stepmother, Jennifer Scott, in London’s High Court from 9 July 2025 over his father Richard’s inheritance worth around £7.5 million, which includes the farm he worked on for up to 130 hours a week and was promised would one day be his.

Mr Scott’s solicitor, Alison Parry, Head of Private Wealth Disputes at JMW, said:

“Mr Adam Scott, the second child of Richard and Janet Scott, was the farming son in the family and gave up many years of his life and a promising alternative career to work side-by-side with his father, at his father’s request, for almost all his life.

“After seven long and difficult years litigating this case, my client is pleased it will finally reach a conclusion, providing all parties with a resolution.”
