#TeamJMW run all the 'WAY' for Charity12th April 2018
Last year, at 46 years old, I became a widow when my husband Dave, sadly died after battling malignant melanoma which ultimately spread to his brain. I felt totally lost and a neighbour happened to mention a charity she knew of called WAY Widowed and Young. It's the only national charity in the UK for men and women widowed at aged 50 or under and they have been a lifeline to me, providing peer to peer support and opportunities to meet with others who have also lost their partners.
The charity has had such a positive impact on my new life that I nominated it to be one the charities of the year at JMW, where I have worked for 21 years. JMW has now put together a team which will be taking part in the Great Manchester Run on 20 May 2018 with some taking on the 10K including myself, Gaynor Turner, Leanne Morgan, Seb Bray and Andy Nivison. The other team members Jenny Arnold, Max Ankers, Ruth Kearns, Jessica Hampson, Peter McDonnell, Richard, Katie Mellor, Oliver Orton, Lauren Bhole and Catherine Gaynor are running the half marathon!
We'd all really appreciate your support, whether that's through kindly making a donation that will go directly to WAY through our fundraising page here or through your ongoing words of encouragement on social media using #TeamJMW all efforts will go along way towards suppoorting our team and the charity who makes such a difference to so many including myself.
