Senior Associate London Family
Rebecca joined JMW in July 2021 as a Senior Associate in the Family Department. She acts for a wide variety of clients from across the country and abroad, dealing with all areas of family work, but especially cases that require substantial client care.
She has experience in an extensive range of family law matters, including: divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships; complex financial issues associated with the breakdown of a relationship; matters relating to children, often with an international element, and nuptial agreements.
Rebecca has written for a number of publications, including the Times, The Observer, The Financial Times Advisor, and Spear’s Magazine on topics of national interest and family law. Several of Rebecca’s articles reflect the issues she has encountered in her work, such as cases concerning emotional abuse, with particular reference to gas lighting and coercive control under Section 76 of the Crimes Act 2006.
She specialises in advising family law clients whose assets either include art or relate to agricultural matters. As a member of the Agricultural Law Association, she spoke at the Association’s annual conference on ‘Divorce and Farming’, and has written several articles on the subject for The Law Society Gazette and Thomson Reuters’ Practical Law.
Recent recognition includes:
- Gold winner of the ‘Rising Star’ award, Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2020
- Silver winner of ‘Family Lawyer of the Year – Associate’, Citywealth Future Leader Awards 2019.
- Shortlisted for ‘Family Young Lawyer of the Year’ , Family Law Awards 2020.
- Chair of PING, the young professionals group for the Professional Advisors to the International Art Market (PAIAM)
- Member of Art Resolve (an art mediation group).
- Academician Friend of the Royal Academy in London.
She has been described by previous clients as:

‘Outstanding in helping me navigate through divorce proceedings. It’s hard to overstate how much Rebecca’s professional experience helped achieve a successful result, while her empathy kept me sane at the same time’.
‘There were many occasions when I was enormously grateful that she was on my side. I will recommend Rebecca in a heartbeat. She’s just damn good at what she does and a thoroughly nice person’.
