Webinar: Getting redundancy processes right
Wednesday, 4 November, 2020 - 9:30am
As a result of the COVID pandemic, many employers will have experienced an unprecedented and difficult year. Whilst the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme helped provide crucial support for a few months, this scheme will come to an end on 31 October 2020 and employers will be considering whether staff can be brought back to work or whether redundancies could be necessary. If you are having to consider potential redundancies, then this webinar is here to help you and provide guidance on that process.
In this webinar, we will provide practical guidance on redundancy situations and cover the legal issues relating to redundancies. In particular, we will look at how employers can effectively run a redundancy process in line with the law, top tips for handling the process successfully and the pitfalls to watch out for. We will go through a case study and there will be an opportunity for attendees to engage in a Q & A session with the hosts as well at the end.
Our webinar is aimed at business owners and HR or those responsible for employee health and wellbeing, in addition to in-house lawyers.
The format of the event will be: -
10.30am finish after Q&A
JMW will guide you through:-
- Redundancy and what that means in legal terms;
- Procedural steps employers need to take;

The Zoom joining details will be emailed out the day before the webinar once you have registered. Please register by Monday 2 November.
Please note this webinar will not cover collective redundancies (i.e. situations where you propose to make 20 or more employees redundant at one establishment within a period of 90 days) or the additional legal requirements that employers have to meet in those situations. However, should you require further information or legal advice on collective redundancies, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Employment Team at JMW Solicitors LLP.
