Beth is a Senior Associate within the Private Wealth Disputes department, having joined JMW in September 2025 from another national law firm based in the North-West. She specialises in all contentious trusts, wills and estate matters - acting on behalf of both claimants and defendants, including lay and professional clients, and charities.
She has a wealth of experience in will validity claims, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and disputes concerning executors and trustees. She regularly advises on contentious Court of Protection matters, including disputed statutory will and deputyship applications.
Examples of her work include:
- Securing a significant award for a minor child who hadn’t been sufficiently provided for under the intestacy rules.
- Successfully defending a claim brought to revoke Powers of Attorney on behalf of an attorney.
- Acting on behalf of the father of a protected party in relation to a statutory will application which made no provision for him.
- Seeking directions as to the administration and distribution of an estate (including caveat removal proceedings) on behalf of the executors.
- Acting on various occasions to seek an Order for sale and vacant possession of an estate property that is in occupation.
- Recovering substantial monies back to the estate on behalf of the executors where there was evidence of financial abuse prior to death.
Beth was recognised as a Recommended Lawyer and a key practitioner by The Legal 500 for both 2024 and 2025.
She is a member of the Contentious Trusts Association (ConTra) and a student member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS). Beth has also contributed towards various articles and blogs published by external providers, and has delivered seminars to other practitioners and professionals on various topics.
