Emily joined the Commercial Road Transport department at JMW in March 2025. She advises operators and drivers across the haulage, coach, and bus sectors on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters.
Emily advises clients on operator licence applications and variations, and represents them in proceedings before the Traffic Commissioner, including Public Inquiries, Preliminary Hearings and driver conduct hearings. She also supports clients with DVSA investigations and compliance issues relating to the operation of commercial vehicles.
Emily provides operators with proactive and targeted advice on areas such as driver management, vehicle maintenance and drivers’ hours rules.
Working closely with department heads Laura Hadzik and Scott Bell, Emily acts for clients ranging from SMEs to national transport operators.
Prior to working at JMW, Emily completed an extended period of in-house work experience at Iceland Food’s Legal Department. She then undertook work experience at Pannone Corporate. Emily went on to work as a paralegal in the Industrial Disease Department of Birchall Blackburn.
Emily completed her training contract at JMW in September 2025 and has developed a strong interest in commercial road transport regulation and compliance.
