Emily Upright

Emily graduated with a Law degree from the University of Warwick before completing her LPC at the University of Law in Norwich. Her training contract included specialism in spinal cord injuries (SCI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), psychiatric injuries, amputation, and industrial disease claims. Having joined JMW upon qualification, Emily continues to specialise in SCI and TBI claims sustained in a variety of circumstances, including road traffic accidents, falls, equestrian accidents, and criminal injuries.

Emily is particularly passionate about mental health, and approaches all her cases with an empathetic perspective on the impact that significant injuries can have on an individual’s mental well-being. Emily aims to handle all cases with the utmost sensitivity to the impact reaching into many areas of the injured person’s life, as well as the impact on their loved ones.

It was a pleasure to settle a case for a young lady who sustained a TBI in a car vs electric scooter road traffic accident, following a sustained period of chronic pain symptoms."

Emily grew up on a smallholding farm in Norfolk and continues her love for the outdoors through hiking, camping, wild swimming, and horse riding. Emily is also a keen knitter and sewist, making historical and fantasy costumes to attend themed events. Outside work, you can usually find Emily geocaching, baking, or reading.
