Henry Williams joined JMW Solicitors in May 2018 and has remained in the Business Crime and Regulatory team throughout. Henry qualified into the department in May 2025. He has completed all of his professional studies and training at JMW providing him with a wealth of experience prior to qualification. Henry’s first case was part of the team defending David Duckenfield where he was ever present at Court for the second trial which resulted in an acquittal on 95 counts of Gross Negligence Manslaughter.
Throughout his legal experience, Henry has been involved in the representation of senior Police Officers in serious and high-profile Criminal and Misconduct Proceedings. This includes being part of the team that represented the Retired Senior Officers in relation to the Stephen Lawrence Investigation who faced longstanding allegations of Misconduct in Public Office, one of the longest and most publicised investigations into Police Officers. As well as this, Henry represents Federated officers in Criminal, Misconduct and Inquest proceedings, and provides on-call support to them for arrests and post incident procedures.
Henry has a wide range of experience in a variety of complex criminal cases including assisting in cases of high profile with widespread media attention involving well-publicised individuals and professional sportspersons. The majority of Henry’s criminal work involves proactive pre-charge engagement in an attempt to dispose of cases at the earliest opportunity. Henry has achieved exceptional results for pre and post-charge Bail including variations to allow for travel outside of the EU and release from custody for individuals considered high risk. Henry’s experience in criminal representation includes the following offences:
