Henry Williams is a Solicitor within the Business Crime & Regulatory department at JMW Solicitors having qualified in May 2025. He harvested extensive experience within the industry prior to qualification, having been part of the firm for over 7 years.
Henry has a wealth of experience in Financial Crime, General Crime and Police Law, providing a robust defence on behalf of those accused in all manner of complex cases. He believes in taking a proactive approach where tactically sensible particularly in relation to pre-charge engagement with a view to having cases discontinued as early as possible.
Henry’s clients are often professional persons who have never been brought before the Criminal Justice System. These clients include company Directors, high net worth individuals, and regulated professionals.
Financial Crime
During his time at JMW, Henry has worked on serious and complex Financial Crime cases. He has represented clients in prosecutions by the Crown Prosecution Service, the National Crime Agency, Insolvency Service, Financial Conduct Authority, HMRC, and private prosecutions including those brought by multibillion pound public limited companies.
General Crime
Henry is vastly experienced in the defence of individuals accused of sexual and domestic offences including historic allegations. Notable cases include the acquittal of a dual national accused of 16 allegations of sexual assault before the Crown Court, being part of the team that successfully defended world-renowned retired footballer for allegations of Controlling and Coercive Behaviour, the recent acquittal of a serving Police Officer before the Crown Court indicted on charges of Rape and numerous matters successfully disposed of pre-charge following representations made the Crown Prosecution Service. Henry is instructed as part of ongoing high-profile historic sexual abuse cases which continue to attract widespread press attention.
In addition, Henry has represented individuals accused of allegations of Murder and Manslaughter, including gangland murders and Homicide cases involving complex medical evidence. Henry continues to be instructed on such cases.
Police Law
Henry joined JMW Solicitors as part of the team defending the Match Commander at Hillsborough who was acquitted of 95 Counts of Gross Negligence Manslaughter.
A large amount of his practice is the representation of Police Officers in Criminal and Misconduct Proceedings. Henry represents Officers of all Ranks including Chief Constable. These cases often attract national press attention. He is presently instructed in numerous cases before the Crown Court including allegations of Misconduct in Public Office, Rape and Sexual Assault as well as large operations into the conduct of officers during serious investigations.
Henry has a wealth of experience in representing officers in complex multi-handed Inquests. In addition, Henry provides on call support for various Police Federations for arrests and Post-Incident Procedures.
Henry is a Trustee of the Police Roll of Honour Charity. This charity commemorates Officer's that have sadly died during service. He is immensely proud to serve such a worthy charity.
