James Sloane

James Sloane is an experienced solicitor in military matters; pursuing high value claims for soldiers and veterans. He primarily pursues civil cases but is very well versed in claiming under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.

Since 2021, James has managed a caseload of higher value military disease claims for deafness, non-freezing cold injuries, PTSD, bodily injuries, spinal injuries and bullying related stress. James has pursued claims for military accidents occurring both inside and outside of the jurisdiction. He represents personnel across all ranks and branches of the armed forces, both serving and discharged. He is supervised by Clare Stevens.

In his spare time, he enjoys watching football, cycling, going to the gym and engaging in spiritual practices like prayer, meditation, cold water dipping and yoga. James has a young daughter who keeps him busy at weekends. He tries to get away once or twice a year on holiday; his favourite destinations being Greece, America and Portugal.

• In February 2026 settled a military hearing loss claim for £115,000.00 following acceptance of a Part 36 offer.
• In January 2026, settled a non-freezing cold injury claim for £200,000.00 by way of JSM.
• In July 2025, settled a military noise induced hearing loss claim for £760,000.00 at a JSM.
• In March 2024 settled a Noise Induced Hearing loss claim in a JSM for the sum of £535,000.00 gross of prior AFCS payments.
• In October 2023 settled a client's PTSD claim under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme for £252,068.39 inclusive of backdated income payments.
