Jessica joined JMW as a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation department in August 2021. Prior to joining JMW, Jessica worked at a specialist property litigation firm.

Jessica has particular experience as to the legal implications of property management in developments of all sizes, delivering thorough and practical advice and taking a sensible and commercial approach to any litigation. Jessica has advised and acted for developers, asset managers, institutional freeholders, management companies and managing agents in a variety of specialist disputes, including:

  • Leasehold disputes
  • Lease interpretation
  • Breach of lease claims
  • Forfeiture and relief from forfeiture
  • Dispensation applications under s.20 Landlord and Tenant Act 1985
  • Right to manage claims
  • Enfranchisement

Jessica has substantive experience in First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) and Upper Tribunal claims arising out of the above.

Jessica has developed her recent practice in this area to include a focus on the Building Safety Act 2022 and its supporting legislation and its impact on the property industry.
