Kawther joined JMW in June 2022 as an Associate in the Corporate Immigration Department.

Kawther graduated from London Metropolitan University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Law degree and later completed her LPC in 2016 with Distinction.

Prior to joining JMW, she worked at a Legal 500 Law Firm (ranked Tier 1 for their immigration and public law work) initially as an Accredited Immigration Caseworker, then progressing to a Trainee Solicitor. She qualified as a Solicitor in February 2017 and has specialised in all aspect of Immigration law. She has been recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ in The Legal 500.

Kawther has been commended by her clients for delivering straightforward and practical advice and has experience in a wide range of Immigration Law matters including:

  • Complex family related applications under Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules
  • Naturalisation and registration applications for British Citizenship who may not readably satisfy the eligibility requirements under the British Nationality Act.
  • Out of time applications for EU Settlement under Appendix EU
  • Applications for permission to remain in the UK outside of the Immigration Rules based on human rights and discretionary grounds
  • Kawther also has extensive experience in assisting on complex immigration cases involving human rights, political asylum claims and deportation.
  • Advising educational establishments and corporate clients on compliance with their Sponsor Licence and visa applications for their students/employees.
  • Kawther is highly experienced with applications seeking administrative review, appeals against refusals by the Home Office and Judicial Review applications.

Kawther is fluent in Arabic and has therefore represented many clients from the Middle East and North Africa.

Kawther is an avid reader and enjoys spending time reading books on alternate history!
