Liz joined the Real Estate Commercial team at JMW as a Partner in May 2025. Prior to joining JMW, she previously worked as a Director at an international law firm.
She advises on the full range of real estate matters throughout a property lifecycle including acquisition, investment, development, property management and disposal as well as special projects and portfolio transactions.
Liz’s development and regeneration experience includes acting for private and public sector parties on residential, mixed use and commercial schemes including strategic land, option agreements and overages. Her experience includes acting for:
- Royal Borough of Greenwich in the complex site assembly and development of new £95m leisure centre with public realm and community space, and disposal and development of adjoining land to a national housebuilder for a 400 unit residential scheme.
- Muse in respect of a 550 unit multi-phase residential development with a development agreement and sub-development agreement.
- A private sector developer of a retail and leisure development, including site acquisition, estate management and set up, freehold disposal of part to a national operator and planned future disposals and pre-lets.
- Caddick on site assembly for the development of commercial and logistics space.
- Wirral Borough Council in respect of a 400 unit residential development with asset strip lease structuring.
- Sheffield City Council on the development, funding and pre-let of three multi-let GP hubs across the city including estate management set up.
- Homes England in respect of site acquisitions for housing projects, including complex title reviews and implementation of recommendations.
Liz also has extensive experience advising blue chip corporate occupiers within the office, retail and hospitality sectors. Her experience includes acting for:
- Whitbread / Premier Inn for over a decade in respect of its acquisition, development, and disposal programmes.
- Melia Hotels International in respect of its UK portfolio, and particularly the roll out of operators in F&B spaces
- Hotel operators in the acquisition and disposal of trading hotel businesses
- Occupiers of grade A office space in the City of London in relation to office headquarter lettings and office moves.
- The UK’s largest retailer, Tesco, on its acquisition of retail express stores, and leading a team of lawyers in the delivery of all lettings and disposals across its 3000+ store estate.
- Shell on acquisitions and management of its retail petrol filling estate and leading a team of lawyers in the national delivery of electric vehicle charging points. Liz has also spent time on secondment with Shell as in-house Counsel.
