Lucy joined the clinical negligence team in JMW’s London office in September 2025 after qualifying as a Solicitor at the firm. 

Lucy has experience working on a variety of clinical negligence matters, including those arising from: 

  • Birth injury 
  • Orthopaedic injury 
  • Ectopic pregnancy 
  • Cardiovascular injury 
  • Brain injury 
  • Surgical negligence 

Lucy’s experience to date includes: 

  • Preparing for and attending an Inquest into the death of a baby who died hours after being born. The Coroner found that neglect had contributed to the baby’s death. 
  • Assisting on a case for a child who contracted Group B Streptococcus infection at birth and has suffered resulting brain injury, leading to long-term cognitive impairment and mobility issues.
  • Assisting on a case for a woman who suffered cognitive impairment after a delay in diagnosis and treatment of cancer. 
  • Working on a case where a man had suffered infective endocarditis after a failure to recognise and treat earlier symptoms and previous medical history. 
  • Preparing for and attending an Inquest into the death of a baby who died 3 days after birth where the Coroner found that neglect had contributed to the baby’s death.
  • Assisting on a still-birth case and achieving a settlement for our client after successful mediation.

Lucy contributed to the JMW London clinical negligence team’s submissions to the National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation’s call for evidence, as well as writing for Chamber’s and Partners on the issue of how AI is likely to affect clinical negligence claims in the coming year.

Lucy is also a member of the Westminster and Holborn Law Society. She is currently a Co-Secretary and a member of the Main Committee. 

Lucy studied law at the University of Warwick where she graduated in 2022. She then completed the LPC in 2023 before commencing her training contract at JMW. 

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys fitness, travel and going to the theatre.
