Business Crime and Regulation

Sadie joined JMW as a Paralegal in the Business Crime and Regulation department in January 2017 and is due to start her Training Contract with the firm in September 2018.

Sadie assists several members of the department with their general duties. She has worked on a wide range of cases concerning various areas of law, including fraud, money laundering, regulatory issues and trading standards disputes.

Before joining JMW, Sadie worked for a national firm as part of the household subrogated recoveries team, based in-house at an insurance company. This involved investigating the recovery of the insurer’s outlay from any third party that was responsible for the damage caused to the policyholder’s property.

In 2015, Sadie achieved a distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University. Prior to this, Sadie graduated from the University of York with a 2:1 in History. Her dissertation focused on the development of science and medicine in the early modern period. Whilst at University Sadie was the Social Secretary of the History Society. This involved organising society balls, visits to National Trust sites and trips to Budapest and Sofia.

Outside of work, Sadie has a keen interest in dance. She has been a member of both the University of York and University of Manchester advanced street dance competition teams. Sadie also enjoys cycling, reading and shopping.
