Solicitor Manchester Commercial Litigation
Savanna is a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation team, having qualified in September 2021. She joined JMW in June 2017 as a paralegal, spending 2 years in the Commercial Litigation team before starting her solicitor training.
Savanna’s work involves judicial review and public law matters, representing claimant clients bringing claims against the State (including the DHSC, the IOPC, local authorities and police forces). Savanna also has experience in general commercial and contractual disputes, assisting on high value and complex claims in the High Court, including applications for urgent interim relief.
Prior to her qualification, Savanna spent 6 months with the Commercial Litigation team as a trainee solicitor, after spending 6 months with the Family team and 12 months with the Business Crime & Regulation team. Savanna acquired criminal defence experience in relation to serious and financial crime, and she assisted the specialist Police Law team representing the match commander on the day of the Hillsborough Disaster during his criminal proceedings.
In addition to her role at JMW, Savanna was the Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group (MTSG) National Representative to the Junior Lawyers Division of the Law Society in 2020/21. Savanna is also a member of the Manchester Law Society Equality Diversity & Inclusion committee.
Savanna graduated with a First-Class undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from Nottingham Trent University, receiving an ITV award for Best Television Documentary. Thereafter Savanna attained Distinctions for the Graduate Diploma in Law and the LPC with a Masters’ degree from the University of Law.
Outside of work Savanna loves to travel and is fortunate to have spent six weeks in Ghana where she volunteered with an NGO on a project to stop child labour and trafficking. Savanna often spends time in the Isle of Man visiting family and friends.
