Funding Support for Cyber-Innovation
JMW can help you apply for funding to manage your risk of becoming a victim of cyber-crime, help pay for the JMW Protect service and to offer you access to intellectual property (IP) experts.
We are here to assist you with your application to schemes such as Cyber Essentials and access funding supplied by Innovate UK. Contact 0345 241 3023 for a no obligation discussion, or allow us to contact you by completing our online enquiry form.
The Cyber Essentials scheme and certification helps organisations protect themselves against common cyber-attacks. It is an important part of developing a secure platform for business activities, and essential for protecting your property and minimising risk.
You may need Cyber Essentials if you are a supplier bidding for a government contract. Since 2014, all suppliers handling sensitive and personal information need Cyber Essentials.
Businesses can achieve certification under the Cyber Essentials scheme with the help of ‘Innovation Vouchers’. They are periodically offered by Innovate UK, an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills to help UK businesses get expert advice on how to protect their business from cyber-crime.
SMEs can apply for an Innovation Voucher from Innovate UK worth up to £5,000 to pay for an external expert in cyber security, or for advice on how to protect new business ideas and intellectual property in cyber security.
In addition to using Innovation Vouchers to pay for Cyber Essentials certification, if you are a start-up, micro, small or medium-sized enterprise, you can apply for funding from Innovate UK - again up to the value of £5,000 - to work with an expert to gain the knowledge to innovate and grow your business.
You can use the expert to obtain advice on a novel idea or design, including IP advice. Innovate UK also offers access to specialist equipment or facilities.
- The body can help you find and choose an expert from one of the following:
- Universities and further education colleges
- Research and technology organisations
- Technical consultancies
- Catapult centres
- Design advisers
- Intellectual property advisers
If you need help applying for funding from Innovate UK, or think intellectual property might be an issue in your project, contact our team on 0345 123 456 for a no obligation chat.
Other Funding from Innovate UK
As part of Innovate UK’s aim to support businesses in accelerating sustainable economic growth, other funding opportunities are periodically available from the department.
For example, businesses can apply for funding to assist with feasibility studies and research and development in specific priority areas. To find out if you are eligible, click here, and browse the various competitions to see if you can benefit from the scheme.
