Invictus Games - I AM

17th October 2018 Armed Forces Claims

Team UK is on its way to Sydney for the 2018 Invictus Games. The Invictus Games is an international multi- sport event, created by Prince Harry, in which wounded, injured or sick armed forces personnel and veterans take part in sports, such as power lifting, wheelchair basketball and indoor rowing. Team UK, at team of 72, will join 17 other nations for the Games.

At the launch of the Games in 2014, Prince Harry said the Games would “demonstrate the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and demonstrate life beyond disability„ and they would also ensure injured troops are not forgotten. The Games have been a great success and I have first-hand experience of the power of the Games having seen a seriously injured client train for selection as part of his rehabilitation. It provided a goal and feelings of pride and self-worth which were very important to him as he came to terms with his injuries. So, Good Luck Team UK ......let the Games Begin!
