Maplin Administration Announcement
The Employment Law team at Manchester based JMW Solicitors LLP is offering its legal services to employees of high street retailer Maplin following their recent administration announcement. The law firm is inviting any affected staff members to get in touch as soon as possible to receive expert advice and representation.
Over 2300 jobs across the UK are under threat after talks regarding a take over of the long-standing electrical firm appear to have broken down. Maplin is working with administrators PwC following serious financial decline, which the company puts down to challenging conditions in the UK retail sector. It is understood that 200 stores will continue trading throughout the administration process.
JMW’s Employment team are highly experienced in dealing with cases like these, having previously represented employees of insolvent companies such as JJB Sports Plc, CityLink and GHA Coaches. We can advise affected employees on their legal rights and what steps they should take following the announcement.
Laura McHugh, an Associate in JMW’s Employment team, says:
“At JMW we understand the enormity of the situation presented to current employees of Maplin. The uncertainty of potential job loss means an extremely difficult period for all employees involved. JMW is on hand to provide both clear and helpful advice to any Maplin employee, to ensure they receive what they are entitled to by law.’
If you are an employee of Maplin, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Employment Law team to discuss your next move. We understand this is an extremely distressing time and we are here to help. Contact us on 0345 241 8184 or alternatively, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
