Associate Solicitor Manchester Family
Lydia is an Associate in the Family Law department, and joined JMW in June 2020, after a period of living and practising in Hong Kong.
Lydia has experience across a broad spectrum of Family Law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, pre and post-nuptial agreements and arrangements for children. Having qualified as a solicitor both in England and Wales in 2011, and subsequently in Hong Kong in 2019, Lydia has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the added issues international, and ‘ex-pat’ families face when relationships break down, including not only the practicalities of litigating on international issues, but also complex legal matters such as jurisdictional disputes and the international movement of children, both lawful and in the context of abduction.
Prior to specialising in Family Law, Lydia worked in the field of Private Client, and spent several years working in London, helping individuals with estate and tax planning from simple matters, to those involving complex and international asset bases.
Whilst experienced in litigation at all levels, Lydia is also committed to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and helping clients resolve their disputes in the most constructive, and cost-efficient way possible. She is a member of Resolution, and trained as a family mediator with the Hong Kong Mediation Accredited Association.
Lydia comes from the South of England, and studied a BA in Politics and Italian at Exeter University, before undertaking the legal conversion course at the University of Law in Guildford.
