Lloyds Bank / RSA data leak


In July 2015, personal information belonging to thousands of Lloyds Premier account customers was stolen as part of a data leak at Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA).  RSA provided the home insurance cover for Lloyds’ Premier account holders. 

The ICO has imposed a fine of £150,000 on RSA for failing to protect the exposed information belonging to 59,592 customers.

The information concerned included names, addresses, bank account details and sort codes.

This serious incident has, understandably, raised huge concerns amongst  Lloyds / RSA customers.  The implications are that people could be exposed to identity fraud, the illegal sale and misuse of their information, and other related problems.
