Christmas markets trip abroad: Tips and pitfalls

14th December 2018 Personal Injury

It is the festive season and you may be thinking of booking a weekend away with your loved ones to discover the Christmas Markets in Berlin, Budapest, Dusseldorf or Prague.

These markets will be full of delicacies from different countries and beautiful (but slightly overpriced) ornaments, amongst other things, to decorate your home.

This trip will be a great opportunity to enjoy a glass of mulled wine, do some shopping and perhaps go ice skating but remember no matter how short the stay is, it is important to arrange travel insurance in case something were to happen during your trip.

In the unfortunate circumstance, that you do break your ankle during your ice escapades or have an accident of any kind, you will be able to make a claim for your medical expenses with your travel insurance.

When taking out travel insurance for your trip you should make sure that it covers you for all the activities that you intend to partake in and that you have the copy of the policy and emergency contact numbers to hand.

Helpful tips prior to travelling:

  • Arrange your travel insurance: this can be easily done through various websites

  • Get your pounds exchanged into the relevant currency

  • Print out the travel insurance policy and important contact numbers

  • Pack warm clothes

  • Bring a suitcase big enough to take back home all of the various treasures found

We of course wish you a fantastic trip, but should you require any legal advice after having an accident abroad, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 054 6570.
