Ameliah joined JMW in June 2021 as a Solicitor in our Contentious Trusts and Probate team.

Specific examples of Ameliah’s work includes:

  • Advising a child of the Deceased in bringing a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and obtaining a substantial settlement for the claimant following mediation and settlement discussions.
  • Advising the Executor of an estate in a claim against the Estate brought by the Deceased’s daughter who had been excluded from his will
  • Advising a claimant who (although not the biological or adoptive child of the deceased) was treated as a child of the deceased, in bringing a claim against his mother’s estate which had been left to a charity

Ameliah graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a degree in Law, before completing her LPC at BPP Law School.

Ameliah completed her Training Contract with Davis Blank Furniss before qualifying into their Private Client team. Ameliah’s experience in dealing with Wills, Probate and Estate Planning is valuable to her role within our disputes team. She deals with all types of disputes arising after someone’s death including challenges to the validity of a Will and Inheritance Act claims.

Outside of work, Ameliah enjoys going to the gym, catching up with friends and going to the theatre.
