Anti-social tenant removed from a property
Property Litigation partner Priya Sejpal was instructed by a long-standing landlord client who was in dispute with a local authority. Priya’s client wanted to evict an anti-social tenant from the property.
What was the outcome?
Priya was able to successfully make an application to the court for an injunction to prevent the anti-social tenant from engaging in disruptive behaviour that was disturbing the peace. The tenant was also subject to committal proceedings for breaching the court order and as a result the tenant was evicted from the property.
Priya Sejpal said “On occasions, tenants act in a disrespectful manner which upsets neighbours and is not conduct that my client is willing to tolerate. I was pleased that we were able to remove the troublesome tenant which was a relief for my client and others who live in the community.”
