We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our firm’s growing Immigration team, based in our Manchester office in Spinningfields.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

In your role as Paralegal, you will be responsible for supporting the team with a wide range of general, administrative, and other legal services related tasks including:

  • Assisting with all aspects of casework, including preparation and submission of business and personal immigration applications/appeals.
  • Supporting clients with sponsor licence compliance obligations and Right to Work matters.
  • Delivering time recording accurately and promptly.
  • Attending such departmental or other forum or committee meetings as are requested by the Head of Department.
  • Assisting in case-based tasks including obtaining expert opinions to assess the viability of cases.
  • Providing an effective, timely and efficient service to the firm’s clients in order to maintain high client satisfaction and compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of work done on legal matters such as when opening new files, closing files, archiving etc. in the firm’s case management system.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

We’re looking for someone effective and efficient, who shares our focus on delivering the right outcomes to our clients.

We ensure that every application or appeal is meticulously prepared, fully compliant with the latest Immigration Rules and guidance, and designed to give our clients the best chance of success, so each member of our team must have exceptional attention to detail and maintain a very high standard when preparing emails, letters, reports and other documents.

You should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong team working ethic.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required.
  • Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A knowledge of the law and practices applicable to the immigration law and an understanding of the legal profession would be advantageous though not essential.
