We are recruiting for three Paralegals and/or Conveyancing Assistants to join the Real Estate Residential department at our head office in Spinningfields, Manchester.
Previous experience within a conveyancing team would be preferred but is not essential. The role will be supporting fee earners with their caseloads. The team typically deal with:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- New build properties
- Help to Buy properties
- Shared Ownership properties
- Remortgages
- Builders and Developers

The role will be fully office-based initially, with the option to work from home one day a week following a settling in period.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring clients and introducers always receive the best possible service
- Communicating with clients of the department in a professional and courteous manner
- Receiving telephone calls into the department; dealing with the calls as far as is possible and directing the calls where appropriate
- Dealing with straightforward enquiries
- Making calls to clients and third parties involved in the conveyancing transaction
- Ordering searches
- Drafting search reports and mortgage reports under the supervision of a conveyancer
- Responding promptly to requests for updates from clients, estate agents, brokers and introducers
- Updating introducer portals where necessary
- Preparing contract packs
- Ordering documents from HMLR
- Ordering bankruptcy searches, priority searches and company searches
- Logging post in
- Preparing files for completion
- Ensuring that the case management is fully up to date
- Using own initiative to progress files within the limits of own ability
- Flagging any issues/concerns to conveyancer with responsibility for the matter
- Undertaking any other tasks that may be required to assist the department
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required
- Strong team working ethic
- Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
- Excellent customer services skills
- Team player – work well with others, provide support where necessary, and know your limits and when to seek guidance
- Previous experience within a conveyancing team would be advantageous.
- A Law degree is desirable but not essential
