Amy Scott

Amy joined JMW in 2024, bringing with her a background in general crime and accreditation as a Police Station Representative.  Amy has a wide range of experience in criminal matters, including large-scale drug conspiracies, serious violence, sexual offences and allegations of misconduct in public office.

Amy subsequently qualified as a Solicitor in September 2026 through the SQE route, having obtained her undergraduate Law degree at the University of Liverpool.

Alongside her work in general crime, Amy has pursued a particular interest and specialism in Police Misconduct work and developed a strong understanding of policing systems, procedures and operations, as well as the pressures and challenges faced by officers involved in disciplinary proceedings.

Amy provides advice to officers in relation to:

• Post-Incident Procedures (PIP’s)
• Investigations conducted by Professional Standards or the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)
• Vetting
• Inquests

She is committed to providing clear, practical advice to her clients, particularly during what can be a challenging and stressful period in their professional careers. Amy’s experience across both criminal defence and professional discipline allows her to take a thorough and pragmatic approach to each case, ensuring that her clients understand the process and feel supported at every stage.

• R v S [2026] - CPS offer no evidence for police officer charged with Assault
• R v M [2026] – No further action taken concerning allegation of Child Assault following representations made during interview

Outside of work, I enjoy keeping fit by going to the gym, the occasional long run and pilates class. At the weekends I like finding a new village or town to explore and trying out new food spots in Manchester.
